Social Update 2.2.1
Big chat features like group chat, clan chat, and whispers. Plus UI tweaks and balance changes.
💬 Social / Quality of Life
- New social chat!
- Now, when you open chat, it defaults to “Say.” Clicking this lets you expand the list of text channels.
- When choosing whisper, you can whisper to any character by typing their name followed by a colon and your message, for example: “CharacterName: hi.” There’s a minimum interval of 3 seconds between whisper messages.
- When choosing group or clan, you can speak globally to your group or clan with a minimum interval of 7 seconds between messages.
- If you’ve received a whisper, selecting whisper will automatically fill in that character’s name so you can reply.
- On PC, pressing TAB while whisper is selected cycles through different people who are whispering to you or whom you’ve whispered to previously.
- To help you keep track of things while chat tabs are being implemented, the maximum number of messages shown in chat history has been increased from 20 to 50.
- When the message input dialog is open, the chat now darkens slightly (less than when you expand it with a double-click). Chat also behaves better when it’s left open for a while, when sending messages, or when it refreshes due to a new message.
- Normal chat now has a minimum interval of 2 seconds between messages.
- You can also whisper to someone by clicking their character’s focus, or by clicking them in the friends list or the clan list.
⚖️ Character Balance
MAGE
The Mage’s path seems on track; however, classes can heal before the third spell, and the Mage lacks the mana to secure a 1v1 kill within four spells (2 spells, enemy heals, 2 more spells).
- Reduced the mana cost of Nuclear Apocalypse.
PALADIN
The Paladin has been outperforming due to low mana costs both in melee mode (strong hits) and in magic mode (good damage, low mana cost). We’re tuning it a bit:
- Slightly reduced the damage of Purify and slightly increased its mana cost.
- Increased the mana cost of Hammer of Justice.
🛠️ Fixes
- When you try to leave a clan, it now asks for confirmation.
- Fixed some texts in clan management.
- A clan Leader can now promote someone to Leader if they were previously a sub-leader (this replaces the current leader). It will ask for confirmation.
- PC: Substantial improvements to the Windows and Mac icons.
- Substantial improvement to how a party member is displayed.
- Fixed the gold cost of the Archer’s Frozen Rain spell.
- Improved PC usability of the Exit key depending on what you have open.
