Update 2.4.0 - Enchanted Weapons

Update 2.4.0 - Enchanted Weapons

A massive update that transforms the equipment system with enchanted weapons, rebalances character progression, and brings a huge wave of gameplay improvements.

⚔️ Weapon Enchantment

You can now enchant a weapon to awaken a hidden power within it!

  • Only level 50 weapons can be enchanted.
  • Enchanting a weapon costs 200,000 gold. Each skill upgrade also costs 200,000 gold up to level 5; beyond that, the cost rises to 300,000 gold per upgrade.
  • A weapon can have up to two skills, chosen randomly.
  • Currently available skills: Defense, Life, Life Steal, Damage, Mana Cost Reduction, Dodge Damage Chance, and Dodge Paralysis Chance.
  • An enchanted weapon emits a glow matching its most advanced stat. The glow is not visible to enemies while the wielder is invisible (fixed a pending bug).
  • Enchanted weapons have a lower chance of breaking on death, improving as the enchantment levels up.
  • Whether in inventory, trade, bank, or on the ground, enchanted weapons emit a purple sparkle for instant identification. Double-clicking or long-pressing them shows the enchantment details.

📦 Item Re-leveling System

The core idea is that lower-level characters should not be so helpless against max-level rivals, especially when they have obtained powerful gear.

  • Items no longer require a minimum level to be equipped; any character can equip any item.
  • Items now have an Item Power stat that scales with the character’s level, adapting item stats accordingly (some items have a higher base Item Power than others).
  • Character HP no longer increases with each level. Equipped items grant HP based on Item Power.
  • Revive inmunity has been increased.

A level 40 character with the same gear as a level 60 character can now put up a real fight.

🗺️ World Map

  • The world map has been redesigned, removing several maps to shorten travel routes (maps 22, 23, 25, 35, 39, 47, 48, 50, 59, and 65 removed).
  • A new map, map 53, has been added in Esperanza with a new climate. It’s designed to relieve congestion in Esperanza now that enchanted weapons make it the best grinding spot.
  • Castles have been redesigned with wider corridors. Castle entrances now place you at a random position near the gate to prevent mass trapping.
  • Nix has been adjusted to add the Enchanter NPC (placed where the professions NPC used to be). The professions NPC has moved to where the merchant was. For now, the Enchanter is only available in Nix.

🎮 Gameplay Improvements

  • You can now configure the Joystick position from the settings menu.
  • You can now configure spell button size from settings. A new button lets you mark spell positions as device-specific, so you can set different layouts on different devices.
  • Right-clicking while a spell is selected now cancels/releases its cast.
  • The chat now reports deaths and kills that happen on your current map.
  • In unsafe maps, non-friendly characters now appear with their name in red (players not in your group or clan).
  • The invisibility appearance has been updated to match the new name color system.

⚔️ Combat & PvP Balancing

Priest

  • Increased the speed of the mana shield area at max level.
  • Increased the speed of the healing area at max level.
  • The shield applied by the Priest now lasts one second longer (from 3 to 4 seconds) to make it more versatile in PvP.

Assassin

  • The Assassin’s stab now applies each bleed tick slightly slower, making it more dangerous against players since even the first bleed tick can no longer be purged by a quick heal.
  • The Assassin’s max HP has been raised to 656.

💻 Game Client

  • Reconnection system: when you lose connection, the game now attempts to reconnect instead of dropping you out.
  • On PC, the client will check for updates and attempt to update itself automatically if required.

🛒 EOCoins Store

  • Added the purchase of cosmetics in the store.
  • Added the purchase of spell skins (starting with the aura skin: the effect that appears when casting a spell). The store adapts to your class.
  • Added the purchase of gold. This is not Pay to Win — it’s for players who don’t have time and prefer to pay rather than farm their own economy by selling items. Skilled players always benefit from this, as they can earn more from defeating players who paid.

🔧 General Changes & Improvements

  • Massive improvements and visual changes to the interface, the HP panel, and the enemy focus display.
  • On monster signs, EXP now updates with the active Boost and always shows two decimal places to avoid confusion.
  • Improved UX to prevent some interfaces from overlapping and to improve the EXIT button on PC.
  • You can no longer hand in a quest that won’t grant you EXP (6+ levels above your character).
  • Enabling keyboard and mouse on tablets and mobile now correctly supports mouse drag events.
  • Fixed the display of certain clan names on the character selection screen.
  • Added the Priest class in item descriptions under available classes.
  • Restored “All” label when an item is available for all classes.
  • Food and drinks can now be used with right-click or double-click if the equip-on-double-click option is enabled.
  • Minor fixes to the minimap and global map behavior.
  • The “Return now” button when you are dead now activates with 6 seconds remaining and works correctly.

Patch 2.4.1

  • Player inspection: You can now inspect other players by clicking on them, clicking on their focus, and pressing the inspect button. You can also inspect a player using the TAB keyboard shortcut. This shortcut can be configured in settings.
  • Enchanted weapon particles are no longer visible floating around the character while invisible.
  • Experience now updates correctly.
  • Fixed a bug where holding down on any image could, in some cases, freeze the game (especially on Android).
  • Increasing enchanted weapon stats now costs 100,000 gold (instead of 200,000) up to level 5; beyond that it costs 150,000 gold (instead of 300,000).
  • Stats and player inspection now display IP (Item Power), which is the sum of the item power of all equipped items, to quickly gauge a player’s strength.
